Under his leadership, the RRS transcended the typical image of the Nigerian police, earning the rare public nickname "The Good Guys."
This wasn't accidental. Disu managed to run a crack unit in Africa’s most chaotic city where discipline and human rights were not mutually exclusive. As reported by The Guardian Nigeria, the RRS under Disu became a reference point for intelligence-led policing, effectively tackling traffic robberies and high-profile crimes without the customary baggage of extortion.
