A wave of fear and confusion swept through the communities of Apomu, Ikoyi, and Ikire in Osun State earlier today, following an unverified rumor alleging the discovery of banditry dens in the Waasimi area, a village situated along the Ikire-Gbongan corridor. The rumor led to temporary disruptions, including the early closure of some schools and markets, as residents acted out of caution.

Fact Frontier News can now confirm that these viral claims are completely false. Mr. Najmdeen, the CEO of Admore-Rahmah Farms Limited and a resident of Waasimi, has categorically debunked the allegations. In a phone conversation with a member of Fact Frontier News, Mr. Najmdeen strongly condemned the spread of such malicious information.

"These claims are a lie," Mr. Najmdeen stated. "There are no bandit dens in Waasimi. Yoruba, Hausa, and Fulani people in this area are living together with peace and harmony. I appeal to the public to disregard this rumor and not allow anyone to sow discord among us."

Waasimi, the focal point of the unsettling claims, is described as a vast, sparsely populated expanse of land predominantly used for farming and cattle grazing. Prior to Mr. Najmdeen’s confirmation, Fact Frontier News had not obtained any verifiable evidence supporting the existence of bandit camps in the area. Security agencies in Osun State have since indicated no unusual activity has been reported, and local vigilante groups have also confirmed that the area remains calm.

Economic and social activities, which experienced brief interruptions, are now returning to normal.

Fact Frontier News strongly urges residents of the affected localities to remain calm and disregard the false rumor. The public is advised to avoid spreading unsubstantiated claims that can lead to unnecessary panic and social disruption. We will continue to monitor the situation and provide verified updates as they become available.
